Jack Draper Set for Return to Action After Injury in Upcoming GB Davis Cup Match

The latest update on British tennis player Jack Draper reveals his plans to return to action in February. Draper is scheduled to participate in Great Britain's Davis Cup tie against Norway, marking his comeback after a prolonged absence due to a bone bruise in his left arm. The injury had forced him to miss several matches, including the Australian Open. However, Draper has made himself available for the qualifier in Oslo, where he will join forces with Cameron Norrie, Jacob Fearnley, and the world's top-ranked doubles pair, Lloyd Glasspool and Julian Cash. This development is a significant boost for team captain Leon Smith, who has often had to contend with the absence of key players in recent years. Smith expressed his enthusiasm for fielding a strong team, stating, 'It's great to be putting forward our strongest team for February's qualifier tie, with our top three ranked singles players and the current number one ranked doubles team in the world.' The team is gearing up to face a challenging opponent in Norway, with the winner advancing to the second qualifying round in September. Draper's return to action follows his recent split from long-time coach James Trotman, with whom he won three ATP Tour titles, including the Masters 1000 crown in Indian Wells. Draper has since hired Andy Murray's former coach, Jamie Delgado, ahead of the 2026 season. Currently ranked 10th in the ATP singles rankings, Draper is looking to make a strong comeback and build on his previous successes, which include reaching the semi-finals of the US Open in 2024 and achieving a career-high ranking of No 4. His journey back to the top will be closely watched, especially given his impressive performances on various surfaces, including his run to the final in Madrid, where he became only the second Brit after Andy Murray to achieve this feat.
