Anthony Joshua in Stable Condition Following Fatal Car Accident in Nigeria
Anthony Joshua is currently hospitalized and in a stable condition after being involved in a fatal car crash in Nigeria, which claimed the lives of two of his friends and training team members. The accident occurred on Monday when the Lexus SUV Joshua was traveling in collided with a stationary truck. Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele were confirmed dead by Joshua's spokesperson. Joshua, 36, sustained minor injuries in the crash and is being kept under observation at the hospital. Footage on social media showed Joshua being helped out of the wreckage, appearing dazed and in pain. Medical staff have conducted several assessments, and he does not require any emergency interventions at this time. The Federal Road Safety Corps suspects the Lexus was speeding and lost control while overtaking. Joshua's promoter, Eddie Hearn, expressed profound sadness and confirmed that Joshua is in a stable condition. The boxing community, including Jake Paul and John Fury, have offered their condolences to Joshua and the families of the deceased. Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu also spoke with Joshua and his mother, conveying his condolences and wishing Joshua a speedy recovery.
