His suspension stemmed from a failed drug test last year, which revealed traces of cocaine after his defeat to Fabio Wardley. Parker, who has consistently denied taking any banned substances, faced the possibility of a two-year ban but has now been cleared to continue his career. In a recent statement, Parker expressed his gratitude to his supporters and announced his imminent return to boxing, although he was advised not to disclose further details at this time. Prior to his suspension, Parker was in impressive form, having won six consecutive fights, including notable victories over Deontay Wilder and Zhilei Zhang, as well as securing the WBO Interim title.
His plans to challenge Daniel Dubois were put on hold due to Dubois' illness, and his subsequent decision to fight Wardley, despite being the WBO mandatory challenger to Oleksandr Usyk, ultimately backfired.
