When asked if he considers himself a favorite to win the title, Norrie humbly replied, 'Everyone is so tough. I'm just happy to have won and am looking forward to my next match.' De Minaur, the highest seed remaining, has been eliminated, and Ben Shelton, the fifth seed and defending champion, now holds the top seed position. Norrie's next opponent, 18th seed Fils, has been impressive in Masters 1000 events this year, having cruised past Mariano Navone 6-3, 6-2.
In the women's event, former semi-finalist Iga Swiatek dominated Viktorija Golubic 6-2, 6-1, conceding just three games in 66 minutes, and will face Marta Kostyuk in the fourth round. Swiatek, who landed 18 winners to Golubic's five, expressed her satisfaction with her performance, saying, 'For sure, it was a good day, and I'm really happy with the way I played.' World No 1 Aryna Sabalenka also advanced to the next round with a straight-sets victory over China's Zhang Shuai, securing a 6-3, 6-4 win in just 76 minutes.
Sabalenka will face Russia's Ekaterina Alexandrova in the next round.
