Charley Hull has made a remarkable surge up the leaderboard at the PIF London Championship, achieving a brilliant course record of 62 in the second round at the Centurion Club. Canada's Anna Huang retains her lead after day two of the 2026 championship, but Hull is now just one stroke behind, rebounding from her opening-round score of 74.
Hull's phenomenal second day saw her card a bogey-free round of 62, surpassing the course record set by her compatriot Georgia Hall in 2021. Her 11-under-par round also equals the lowest round on the Ladies European Tour, placing her alongside notable players like Haeran Ryu, Jessica Korda, Alison Lee, and Karrie Webb in the record books. Hull began the day with an eagle at the first hole, followed by three consecutive birdies on holes four, five, and six, and another on nine to reach six under at the turn. She added further birdies on holes 10, 13, 15, and 17 before sealing her round with a birdie on 18, moving into solo second place on the leaderboard with a score of 10 under par.
'It was really good; I shot 11 under and actually left a couple of shots out there coming in. I know that sounds crazy, but it was a fun day,' Hull said.
Despite feeling exhausted from the previous weeks, especially after the AIG Women's Open, and dealing with ongoing injuries, Hull expressed surprise at her 11-under score, describing it as the easiest of her life. She aims to improve further in the next round. Meanwhile, three-time LET winner Huang maintained her lead with a round of 68, achieving a score of 11 under par. Wales' Lydia Hall is in outright third place on eight under par after her round of 67, which included a chip-in eagle.
Australia's Kelsey Bennett and Ireland's Aine Donegan are tied for fourth place on seven under par. The tournament continues, with the third round airing live on Sky Sports Golf.
