This bout marked his first world title fight and his inaugural professional contest in Ireland. The event was made even more memorable as McKenna's brother, Stevie, secured a spectacular knockout earlier in the evening.
As McKenna entered the ring, the crowd at the 3Arena cheered wildly, creating a deafening atmosphere. McKenna began the fight by edging forward, using feints and timing a left hook perfectly as Oliha approached. He continued to utilize his quick jab and landed a significant cross, showcasing his skill and strategy.
