Brooks Koepka was scathing in his assessment of his own game after a disappointing finish at the Wyndham Championship, labelling his failure to qualify for the FedExCup playoffs as 'pathetic'. The five-time major champion, who recently returned to the PGA Tour after a four-year stint with LIV Golf, carded a final-round 70 at Sedgefield Country Club but ended up tied for 70th, well short of the top-four finish he needed to advance to the St Jude Championship. Koepka was candid about his struggles on the greens, admitting he has 'zero confidence' in his putting and is at a loss to explain his poor form. 'I struck the ball great, but it's all on the greens,' he said.
'I don't know what the deal is. I've got zero confidence, can't putt. I don't know. There's going to be a lot of changes here soon.' Koepka's frustration boiled over when asked to sum up his disappointment at missing the playoffs, saying: 'I'm pretty disappointed.
I think it's pretty pathetic that I couldn't get through. Zero top-10s basically in two years. To be in the prime of my career and be as good as I think I am, I think that's very pathetic, disappointing.' The 36-year-old American has not made a PGA Tour post-season appearance since 2021 and has secured just one top-10 finish in the 16 tournaments he has played since returning to the PGA Tour from LIV Golf.
Koepka plans to 'go home and completely re-evaluate everything' in a bid to turn his fortunes around.
