The chief executive of Scottish Rugby, Alex Williamson, has been dismissed following an independent inquiry into his behavior. Williamson joined the organization in early 2025, succeeding Mark Dodson, and was placed on extended leave in May due to unspecified reasons. According to John McGuigan, chairman of Scottish Rugby Limited, the board terminated Williamson's contract immediately after concluding the investigation, citing conduct that fell short of the organization's standards. The chief financial officer, David White, will serve as interim CEO while a new recruitment process takes place.
