Newcastle United have made it clear to Manchester United that they have no intention of selling full-back Lewis Hall during the current transfer window, following an initial approach from the Red Devils. Manchester United are eager to bolster their left-back position this summer, with the 21-year-old England international being a long-admired target. However, Newcastle rejected their enquiry two weeks ago and are instead focusing on adding another full-back to their squad. Hall has a contract with Newcastle that runs for another three years.
Since March, Sky Sports News has reported that Hall was among the players being considered by Manchester United as a potential long-term replacement for Luke Shaw, whose contract expires in a year. With Manchester United currently relying on Shaw as their sole senior left-back option, following Tyrell Malacia's departure, they are expected to continue assessing their options in the transfer market. The club is also open to signing an additional midfielder. According to Sky Sports News' Danyal Khan, "Hall is someone Manchester United genuinely admire, and his transfer seems more feasible now given Newcastle's current situation, including their lack of Champions League football and recent changes in management and ownership." Khan added, "While Newcastle would not be pleased to lose Hall, he is not irreplaceable, especially considering he was absent from the team in April.
From Manchester United's perspective, they believe Hall is an achievable target this summer."
