Nat Sciver-Brunt and Beth Mooney hit impressive half-centuries, scoring 67 and 54 runs respectively, as the Rockets easily reached their target of 122 runs with 18 balls to spare, securing their fifth consecutive win. Earlier, Australian spinner Sam Bates took 3-13 to move to the top of the wicket-taking charts as MI London struggled to reach 121-5. The Rockets then comfortably achieved their target, despite an early setback when Sophia Dunkley was dismissed for a duck.
The partnership between Sciver-Brunt and Mooney resulted in 118 runs, the second-highest partnership in the history of the women's competition. MI London made a decent start, reaching 28-0, but their innings declined after Bates took the crucial wicket of Hayley Matthews. The hosts then lost several wickets, with Bates striking twice in consecutive deliveries, before Monaghan and Kerr attempted to rebuild.
However, their total seemed below par on a good pitch against the dominant Rockets. In other news, the India pair Richa Ghosh and Smriti Mandhana helped the Manchester Super Giants keep their Eliminator hopes alive with a 27-run win over the Southern Brave. The Super Giants consolidated their third-place position in the table after posting a competitive 139-4.
Ghosh hit 54 runs off 34 balls, while Mandhana scored 46 runs off 36 balls. The Brave struggled to pressure the Giants after Laura Wolvaardt fell to Mady Villiers, who finished with three wickets for 17 runs.
