A dominant display by Sophia Dunkley, who scored 56 runs off 33 balls, propelled Trent Rockets to a thrilling five-run victory over SunRisers Leeds in The Hundred at Trent Bridge. Dunkley's impressive innings was complemented by valuable contributions from her teammates, including Nat Sciver-Brunt and Bess Heath, as the Rockets posted a defendable total of 139-7.
Despite a strong effort from Annabel Sutherland, who scored 59 runs off 30 deliveries, the SunRisers Leeds fell short, with some economical bowling by Kim Garth at the death securing the win for the Rockets. Meanwhile, Manchester Super Giants solidified their third-place position with a six-wicket win over MI London, who remain at the bottom of the table without a win. The Super Giants' victory was fueled by a stellar performance from Sophie Ecclestone, who conceded just seven runs off her 20 balls and took two catches, as well as an excellent all-round fielding display led by Meg Lanning.
With this win, the Super Giants strengthen their position, while MI London's chances of making the Eliminator take a significant hit.
