Emma Raducanu's ongoing struggle with a stress fracture in her right lower leg has led to her withdrawal from the upcoming US Open. The injury, sustained during the grass-court season, prompted a late withdrawal from Wimbledon and has now forced her to miss another major tournament. Following medical consultations, Raducanu has been advised against competing in New York later this month. This latest setback comes after a frustrating 12 months for the 23-year-old, marked by persistent physical issues, including a foot injury and a post-viral illness that kept her off the court for two-and-a-half months.

Despite making positive progress last summer, including winning matches at Flushing Meadows, Raducanu's return to form has been hindered by her recent injury. After rehiring coach Andrew Richardson, who guided her to the US Open title, Raducanu's time on court has been limited. Her participation in the rest of the 2026 season is now uncertain, with her current ranking of 49 likely to slide.

Raducanu recently posted an optimistic message on social media, showcasing her practicing serves with a protective boot, but her absence from the US Open and the Billie Jean King Cup Finals has raised questions about her future competitions.
