Following their previous win over York, this marks the first time Huddersfield has achieved back-to-back victories since April. Although they remain at the bottom of the table, the Giants are now just two points behind Hull FC.

Huddersfield started strong, capitalizing on a fresh set of six around 40 meters out. An inside ball from Harry Rushton to Chris Patolo led to the first try, which was successfully converted by George Flanagan. Hull FC equalized midway through the first half when Jake Arthur's short ball found Joe Batchelor, who sprinted clear and scored. The visitors took the lead six minutes later, courtesy of an excellent break by Cade Cust, supported by Ethan O'Neill and Davy Litten.

However, Zak Hardaker failed to add the extras. Huddersfield nearly scored their second try before the break, but Jacob Gagai was denied after a video review. The hosts began the second half strongly, with Tui Lolohea's kick forcing a Hull knock-on. Connor Wrench then kicked through and grounded the ball behind the sticks to give Huddersfield the lead.

However, their advantage was short-lived, as Hull's O'Neill and Litten combined to level the score at 16-12. Huddersfield fought back, with Lewis Jagger diving over to equalize. After Hull was penalized for a high tackle, the home side capitalized on the opportunity, with Flanagan scoring the winning try behind the posts.

"It was great to see the team believe in themselves towards the end of the game and find a way to win," Huddersfield head coach Jim Lenihan said in a post-match interview with Sky Sports. "The result is a testament to the hard work the team has put in during training.
