In a nail-biting finish, Ollie Pope hit the winning runs off the final ball to lead MI London to a thrilling three-wicket win over Southern Brave at the Utilita Bowl in Southampton. Opener Jamie Smith fell just short of a half-century with 49 runs from 26 balls, while Tristan Stubbs contributed 38 from 31 in an otherwise lackluster Southern Brave innings. Impressive bowling from Trent Boult and Sam Curran limited the Brave to 129-9 from their 100 balls. MI London struggled to find their footing, with James Vince and Nicholas Pooran falling in successive balls to Marcus Stoinis.
However, Sam Curran, Will Jacks, and Sherfane Rutherford helped steady the ship. With six runs needed from the final five balls, the Brave seemed poised for a comeback.
But when Rashid Khan was dismissed, leaving Trent Boult on strike, MI London needed three runs from the last three balls.
