After suffering a 66-47 loss to Australia, England rebounded with a 73-38 triumph over Malawi. The team started strongly, establishing a 14-point lead by halftime with a 37-23 score. By the end of the third quarter, they had extended their lead by 18 goals, with Sasha Glasgow contributing to Malawi's struggles.
England, who began their campaign with an 84-35 win over Northern Ireland, continued to dominate in the final quarter, with Olivia Tchine of London Pulse finishing with 24 goals. Vice captain Amy Carter noted, 'It was crucial for us to get back on track. After yesterday's loss, we've made significant improvements today and addressed some of our mistakes.' England will likely need to defeat South Africa in their final group match to have a chance at reaching the semi-finals and keeping their medal hopes alive. The team's roster includes defense players Halimat Adio, Fran Williams, Funmi Fadoju, and Jayda Pechova, midcourt players Imo Allison, Jess Shaw, Amy Carter, and Nat Metcalf, and attack players Sasha Glasgow, Liv Tchine, Eleanor Cardwell, and Lois Pearson.
