Following her retirement, Katherine Sciver-Brunt has been appointed as an assistant coach for Trent Rockets Women in The Hundred 2026. A renowned former England seamer with 335 international wickets under her belt, Sciver-Brunt was recently honored with an OBE for her services to cricket. Her record stood until it was surpassed by Sophie Ecclestone at Lord's.
Sciver-Brunt expressed her excitement about stepping back into cricket, stating, "The time has come for me to take on a new role within the sport." Having played for the Rockets from 2021 to 2023, she felt drawn to the team, citing Trent Bridge as a special place. As a new mom, Sciver-Brunt is eager to embark on this coaching journey, working alongside head coach Chris Read and fielding coach Graeme White.
Her wife, Nat Sciver-Brunt, who is the England captain, was retained by the Nottingham-based side ahead of the season. The couple welcomed their son Theo last year. Sciver-Brunt's coaching debut with the Rockets is highly anticipated, with their first home matchday scheduled for July 26 at Trent Bridge.
