"A good start is crucial," McInnes stated in an interview with Sky Sports News ahead of his first competitive match in charge. "We haven't had a strong start to the season in recent years, especially in the opening game.

Physically, I think we are ready, but as a squad, we still have some work to do. "We have good options in certain areas of the pitch, but we are a bit light defensively and have good numbers in central positions.

"We have good options at center forward, but I believe that's an area where we can improve."
