Former two-time IBF super-featherweight champion Joe Cordina has entered a plea of not guilty to allegations of assault. The 34-year-old appeared in court alongside Jamie O'Brien, who is also facing assault charges in connection with the same incident. The alleged incident occurred outside a service station in Cardiff on February 27. Cordina's lawyer stated that the second charge against him stems from a single, ongoing incident.
A trial date has been set for October 13, with Cordina being granted unconditional bail until then. This development comes as Cordina was scheduled to compete for the WBO lightweight title in the US, but his visa application was denied.
