Al Hilal has finalized the acquisition of winger Crysencio Summerville from West Ham, with the deal valued at up to £60m. According to Sky Sports News, the initial fee is £55m, with an additional £5m in potential add-ons. This transfer marks the third-highest sale in West Ham's history, following the transfers of Declan Rice to Arsenal and Mateus Fernandes to Tottenham.
Summerville has agreed to a four-year contract with the Saudi Pro League side, joining notable players like Ruben Neves, Karim Benzema, and Theo Hernandez under the management of Simone Inzaghi. Roma had expressed interest in the Netherlands international, with a rejected offer of £39m on July 20. Manchester United also targeted Summerville but were unable to proceed due to their focus on selling Marcus Rashford. The news of Al Hilal's late bid was initially reported by Italy's Gianluca Di Marzio on Sky.
The Saudi club's offer, nearly double Roma's initial proposal, was swiftly accepted by West Ham. With the sale of Summerville and Fernandes, West Ham will have generated over £150m this summer.
Summerville made 34 appearances for West Ham in the 2025/26 season, scoring seven goals and providing five assists. He also played in all four of the Netherlands' matches at the 2026 World Cup, scoring two goals and assisting two more.
