Katherine Sciver-Brunt has been appointed as an assistant coach for Trent Rockets Women in The Hundred 2026, marking her first coaching role since retirement. The ex-England seamer, who was recently honored with an OBE for her services to cricket, had an illustrious career spanning three decades with 335 international wickets.
Her record was recently surpassed by Sophie Ecclestone at Lord's. Sciver-Brunt expressed her enthusiasm for the new role, stating, "The time has come for me to step back into a role within cricket. I've had a wild three years since retiring, trying to figure out what life looks like for me now as a mum.
The first place I thought of was the Trent Rockets." She added, "Trent Bridge is such a special place, and having been involved as a player with the Rockets before, coming back as a coach was an opportunity I just couldn't turn down." Sciver-Brunt will work alongside head coach Chris Read and fielding coach Graeme White. Her appointment reunites her with wife and England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt, who was retained by the Rockets.
The couple welcomed their son Theo last March. Sciver-Brunt's coaching debut comes as the Rockets prepare for their first home match on July 26, with The Hundred set to broadcast live on Sky Sports from July 21 to August 16.
