England's Nat Sciver-Brunt will not participate in the upcoming ODI series against New Zealand, as she has suffered a minor tear in her left calf. The injury occurred during a match between The Blaze and Warwickshire.
As a precautionary measure, Sciver-Brunt has been ruled out of the three-match series. Vice-captain Charlie Dean will take over as captain, and Maia Bouchier has been added to the squad as batting cover. Sciver-Brunt had played a full game but experienced discomfort afterwards. A scan revealed the extent of the injury, and she has been advised to rest.
Her availability for the upcoming Vitality IT20 matches will be determined later. In the meantime, Charlie Dean will lead the team in the ODI series against New Zealand.
