England women's team captain Nat Sciver-Brunt will not participate in the upcoming ODI series against New Zealand, following a minor calf injury sustained during a match between The Blaze and Warwickshire. As a precaution, Sciver-Brunt has been advised to rest, and her availability for the Vitality IT20 matches will be assessed later. Vice-captain Charlie Dean will lead the team in her place, with Maia Bouchier joining as batting cover. Sciver-Brunt experienced discomfort after playing a full game and underwent a scan, which revealed the extent of the injury.
