Welsh rugby icon George North has revealed that he will be hanging up his boots at the end of the current season. North, 34, embarked on his illustrious career with the Scarlets before joining Northampton Saints in 2013, where he clinched the Premiership title. He then moved to Ospreys in 2018 and later joined French club Provence.
Having retired from international rugby in 2024 with an impressive 121 caps for Wales, North also had the distinction of touring with the British and Irish Lions twice. He ranks third on Wales' all-time list for men's appearances and is the second-highest try scorer in men's rugby for his country, with 47 tries to his name.
In a heartfelt video message, North expressed his gratitude to his family, friends, and supporters, stating, 'For me, it's the right time. I've been fortunate enough to live my childhood dream, playing alongside some of the best players, coaches, and staff.' He added, 'I'm excited to see where my next journey takes me.'
