Last week we welcomed the PING Europe apparel team to The Chevron Championship for what could be the first ever fitting session for both players and their caddies. Over the past three Solheim Cups we have worked closely with the PING design and technical staff, which has streamlined the fitting process and allowed us to provide clear feedback on cut, comfort and style. Their willingness to adapt the garments to our preferences has been invaluable.
Although the final uniforms will remain a secret until the teams arrive in the Netherlands, I was given a privileged look at the accessories we selected, the fabrics we chose, and the colour palette that will define our look. In addition to the standard jackets and trousers, we have incorporated a few unexpected touches—custom‑embroidered patches, subtle reflective trims for evening visibility, and a range of breathable, moisture‑wicking liners for the colder morning rounds. These details were designed to give our players and caddies a cohesive, professional appearance while also providing practical benefits on the course. We are also finalising the attire for two key non‑competitive events: the Gala Dinner on Wednesday of Solheim Cup week and the Opening Ceremony.
For the gala, we are collaborating with a Dutch design house to create an elegant ensemble that reflects both the heritage of the tournament and the contemporary flair of European golf. The opening ceremony outfit will be slightly more relaxed but still coordinated, featuring a sleek polo shirt, tailored shorts, and the same signature PING branding that will be seen on the course.

One of the most rewarding aspects of this uniform project has been the reaction of the players. My vice‑captains, Mel and Carro, have both expressed relief that we are not introducing a formal dress code for the competition itself, allowing them to focus on performance rather than wardrobe. Behind the scenes, the work continues with ongoing conversations with players, caddies and the broader support staff.
Zoom meetings have become a daily staple, enabling us to coordinate logistics, discuss outfit preferences, and address any last‑minute adjustments despite the geographic spread of the team. The excitement surrounding this Solheim Cup is palpable.
It seems that every conversation I have this year inevitably circles back to the tournament—whether it’s a casual chat with a fellow professional or a strategic meeting with a sponsor. Balancing my own tournament schedule with the responsibilities of captaincy has been challenging, but the Ladies European Tour, the LPGA and my management team have all provided tremendous support, helping me navigate this dual role. Being on this journey alongside the players is precisely why I volunteered for the captaincy. When I’m paired with European teammates during practice rounds, I get a front‑row seat to their preparation, mindset and camaraderie.
