Welcome to the second edition of my Captain's Corner! This season I will be chronicling my experience as the European Solheim Cup captain, from the early preparations right through to the tournament itself, which will be hosted in the Netherlands for the first time from September 7 to 13.

The golf calendar is already in full swing, and we have just wrapped up the first major of the year, The Chevron Championship in Texas. European players made a strong impression there, showcasing the depth of talent we have across the continent. Early season movements in the Rolex Rankings have been intriguing.

A variety of golfers have displayed excellent form, which means the composition of the Solheim Cup team remains fluid and exciting. With four more majors looming on the horizon and each offering a substantial points haul, the race to secure a spot on Team Europe will intensify in the coming weeks. Last week, the PING Europe apparel team joined us at The Chevron Championship for the first possible fitting session for player and caddie attire. This marks the initial step in finalising the look that our team will wear when they arrive in the Netherlands. PING has been our apparel partner for the past three Solheim Cups, so the collaboration runs smoothly.

Their design team is receptive to our feedback and works tirelessly to adjust cuts, fabrics and colour palettes to suit the preferences of both players and caddies. While the final uniforms will remain a surprise until the squad lands in the Netherlands, I was able to get a sneak peek at the accessories we selected, the materials we chose, and the colour schemes we settled on.

There are also a few fun extras in the pipeline that we hope will delight the team. We are currently polishing the official garments for the Gala Dinner, which will take place on Wednesday of Solheim Cup week, as well as the attire for the Opening Ceremony.

These pieces will be more formal than the everyday competition wear, and we are working with a Dutch design firm to ensure they reflect both the prestige of the event and the host country's style. I’m particularly pleased that we are not returning to the dress code for our female captains and vice‑captains this year – a relief expressed by both Mel and Carro, my vice‑captains. The behind‑the‑scenes work continues with ongoing conversations with players, caddies and the broader support staff.

Zoom meetings have become a staple of my daily routine, allowing me to coordinate logistics, discuss uniform preferences and keep everyone informed about travel arrangements. The excitement surrounding this Solheim Cup is palpable. It seems impossible to have a conversation about the tour without the tournament being mentioned at least once.

Balancing my own playing schedule with the responsibilities of captaincy has been challenging, but the Ladies European Tour, the LPGA and my management team have provided invaluable assistance, helping me navigate this dual role. Being on this journey alongside the players is precisely why I volunteered to serve as captain now. When I’m paired with European teammates during practice rounds, I get a front‑row seat to watch them compete up close, learn about their personalities and understand how they thrive under pressure.

Those moments deepen my connection to the squad and reinforce my belief in our collective potential.
