Justin Rose is confident that switching to his new McLaren Golf clubs will not hinder his performance as he prepares to make his debut at the Cadillac Championship in Miami. Rose has partnered with the renowned Formula 1 team, which is now entering the golf industry, with the official launch taking place on Wednesday, coinciding with the lead-up to the Miami Grand Prix on Sunday.
Despite his recent success, including a third-place finish at The Masters and a win at the Farmers Insurance Open in January, Rose does not see his change of clubs as a concern. "We've implemented some best practices in the development process, which I believe have resulted in an excellent set of golf clubs," Rose stated on Tuesday. "While there may be a refinement process, I don't foresee any issues in the long run." Rose has been involved with the project from its inception, working closely with the engineering team and testing the initial editions of the clubs. "I've been working on this project for over a year, so it's exciting to finally launch it, especially with the Miami Grand Prix taking place this week, creating a lot of synergy," he added.
Meanwhile, Alex Fitzpatrick will also be competing at the Cadillac Championship, marking his first PGA Tour event as a full member after his victory at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans with his brother Matt on Sunday. Fitzpatrick had to cancel his plans to play in the DP World Tour's Turkish Airlines Open to make his PGA Tour debut. "It's been pretty wild," Fitzpatrick said.
"My goal is to enjoy the experience. This is my first day, so to speak, and I'm not sure what to expect. Hopefully, I'll hit the first fairway and take it from there."
