"It was ridiculous," Scotney said in a post-fight interview. "I think we threw a punch every two seconds.
Everyone was saying someone's going to run out of steam, but it just kept going." Scotney had to overcome a tough challenge, both in and out of the ring. She suffered a calf muscle tear six weeks before the fight, which limited her training and forced her to adjust her strategy. Despite these setbacks, Scotney persevered and seized the momentum in the second half of the bout. "She caught me with quite a lot of shots on the ropes, and something comes over me, and I go straight at her," Scotney recalled.

"I'm a person that always wants a challenge, and that always comes with a champion," Scotney said. "I'm going to sit down with the team and see what steps are next. If I could, I'd go straight into another world title fight. I just want a challenge.
