Nelly Korda continues to dominate the Chevron Championship, holding a five-stroke lead heading into the final round despite a less impressive third round. The American golfer, seeking her third major title, had set a new tournament record for the first 36 holes with consecutive scores of 65, giving her a six-stroke advantage.
However, she shot 70 on Saturday, reducing her lead by one stroke as Thailand's Patty Tavatanakit closed the gap with a 69, moving to 11 under. China's Ruoning Yin had a standout performance with a 66, placing her at 10 under, but still six strokes behind Korda. English golfers Charley Hull and Lottie Woad showed improvement in the third round but remain far behind.
A win for Korda would elevate her to the top of the world rankings, given that Jeeno Thitikul missed the cut. Korda reflected on her third round, "The front nine was great, but after missing a putt on the eighth hole, my pace slowed down." She plans to practice her putting, aiming to reset for the final round.
The fourth and final round will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Golf, starting at 7 pm on Sunday.
