Miller's victory, which saw him throw over 1,000 punches, marked a successful debut under the guidance of new trainer Bozy Ennis. With a record of 28-1-2 and 22 knockouts, Miller is now being lined up for a fight against Wilder in New York, according to promoter Eddie Hearn. 'For me, the American fight is Deontay Wilder against Jarrell Miller,' Hearn stated.
'Run it in New York. That's a serious fight. Deontay's come back with a good win against Chisora, I think that's a big fight for American boxing.' Miller's win over Pero is his second consecutive victory in 2026, potentially setting him up for a final push to become a heavyweight world champion.
Miller attributed his improved performance to a leaner fighting weight of 305lbs. 'I knew Pero was going to be tough, and I had a feeling he was going to move a lot more than that, to tell the truth,' Miller said. 'I wasn't looking for the knockout.
I just wanted to see what my conditioning was and get back to throwing a lot of punches.'
