Nelly Korda delivered a commanding performance at the Chevron Championship, held at Memorial Park Golf Course, to capture her third major title. She finished five shots ahead of Ruoning Yin and Patty Tavatanakit, concluding the tournament at 18-under par. This victory will propel Korda back to the top of the Rolex Women's Golf Rankings, surpassing Jeeno Thitikul. Korda's dominance was evident throughout the four rounds, and she equalled the record-low 54-hole score heading into the final round, leading the field by five shots.
"It was a tough weekend, and having such a big lead was not easy. It was mentally one of the most challenging things I've faced," Korda said. "I'm fortunate to have an incredible support system, including my family and caddie, and I'm thrilled to have achieved this win." Korda started strongly, going two-under through her first three holes, as Yin and Tavatanakit attempted to close the gap.
Despite struggling with her putting, Korda demonstrated her composure and resilience, bouncing back from a bogey on the 12th hole with birdies on the 13th and 14th holes. A birdie on the 17th hole secured her victory, and she sealed the win with a long par putt on the 18th hole.
Korda's victory marks her second win on the LPGA Tour this season, following her success at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions in January. Thailand's Tavatanakit and England's Charley Hull also had notable performances, with Tavatanakit finishing three-under for the day and Hull ending the day at level par. The LPGA Tour will now head to Playa del Carmen for the Mexico Riviera Maya Open at Mayakoba, with all four rounds broadcast live on Sky Sports.
