However, both Neville and Merson believe that Howe should not be sacked, with Merson suggesting that Chelsea would be eager to appoint him as their next permanent manager. Merson stated, 'I'm a big fan of Eddie Howe, and if he were to leave Newcastle, there would be a long line of teams interested in hiring him.
