Following an administrative error, Gstaad has been reinstated in the Betfred 2000 Guineas at Newmarket with a supplementary fee of £30,000. Gstaad, trained by Aidan O'Brien and a winner of the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf, is among four Ballydoyle contenders, including Puerto Rico, Causeway, and Flushing Meadows, vying for a spot. The field also includes Bow Echo, unbeaten in three starts, and supplementary entry Padraig Dawn.
Charlie Appleby may enter Dewhurst third Distant Storm and the unbeaten King's Trail, while Roger Varian's Avicenna and John and Thady Gosden's Oxagon are also in contention. The international field is rounded out by Karl Burke's potential trio of Alparslan, Billecart, and Hankelow, as well as Francis-Henri Graffard's Samangan.
Meanwhile, the Betfred 1000 Guineas has 22 fillies, including ante-post favorite Precise, who overcame a spring setback to remain in contention. Trainer Aidan O'Brien has also left in the unbeaten Diamond Necklace, True Love, and Venosa, while the home team is led by Karl Burke's Venetian Sun and Charlie Appleby's Abashiri.
