Starting the final round one stroke behind overnight leader Adrian Otaegui, Wiesberger's impressive round of 67 propelled him to a 19-under finish, securing a three-stroke lead at the top of the leaderboard. Otaegui, who carded a 71, struggled on the back nine with two bogeys and a double bogey on the 18th hole at the Shanghai Enhance Anting Golf Club.
An emotional Wiesberger reflected on his journey, stating, "It's been a tough couple of years, but this week has been unbelievable. I played with all my heart, and although it wasn't always pretty, I managed to get the job done." Wiesberger praised Otaegui as a great competitor but acknowledged that something shifted in his favor on the tenth hole, demonstrating the unpredictable nature of golf. With this win, Wiesberger expressed his pride in persevering through challenging times and dedicated his victory to his supporters back home.
The victory also secures his spot in the Rolex Series events, significantly impacting his next couple of years. Meanwhile, Sweden's Mikael Lindberg secured solo third place with a 14-under finish, followed by South African Shaun Norris in fourth. German Freddy Schott achieved the lowest round on Sunday with a 64, placing him fifth at 12 under. Wiesberger's last victory dated back to the Danish Golf Championship in May 2021.
