Gstaad has been reinstated in the Betfred 2000 Guineas at Newmarket with a £30,000 supplementary entry fee. The Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf winner, trained by Aidan O'Brien, was initially withdrawn due to an administrative error, along with Albert Einstein. While Albert Einstein remains out of the running, Gstaad joins three other Ballydoyle contenders - Puerto Rico, Causeway, and Flushing Meadows - among the 20 colts still in contention at the confirmation stage. Other potential participants include Thesecretadversary, Power Blue, Bow Echo, and Padraig Dawn.
Charlie Appleby may have two runners with Dewhurst third Distant Storm and the unbeaten King's Trail, while Roger Varian's Avicenna is another possible contender for Godolphin. The field also includes Oxagon, Alparslan, Billecart, Hankelow, Samangan, Into The Sky, Needle Match, Venetian Prince, and Lord Britain. Meanwhile, Precise, the ante-post favorite, is among 22 fillies to confirm their participation in the Betfred 1000 Guineas. Precise, trained by Aidan O'Brien, won four of her five juvenile starts, including two Group One victories.
O'Brien has also left in the unbeaten Diamond Necklace, True Love, and Venosa. The home team is led by Karl Burke's Venetian Sun, who won her first four starts at two before finishing third behind Precise. Other contenders include Abashiri, Touleen, The Prettiest Star, Azleet, and Darn Hot Gallop.
