Deontay Wilder, the former WBC world heavyweight champion, is not dwelling on the missed chance to fight Anthony Joshua this summer. Joshua's promoter, Eddie Hearn, had suggested a potential bout between the two, but it ultimately did not materialize.
Instead, Joshua will face Kristian Prenga in July. Wilder's manager, Shelly Finkel, stated that they are not disappointed, as the fight was never a certainty. 'You can't be disappointed about something that never was,' Finkel said. The two fighters have come close to reaching an agreement in the past, but it has yet to happen.
Wilder is now looking for new opportunities, including a potential fight with unified heavyweight champion Oleksander Usyk. 'It can happen and it will happen,' Wilder previously stated. 'Unifying the division would be an overwhelming feeling for me.'
