A sizeable contingent of our European players performed admirably, putting the continent in a strong position early in the season. As we head toward the remaining four majors—each offering even more ranking points—the picture of the eventual Solheim Cup squad continues to take shape, and the anticipation is building.

Last week we welcomed the PING Europe apparel team to the Chevron Championship for the inaugural fitting of potential player and caddie uniforms.
This marks the first time we have conducted a trial of the clothing that will be worn at the Solheim Cup, and the collaboration feels natural because we have been working closely with PING Europe for the past three editions of the event. Their willingness to listen to feedback and tweak both fit and style has made the process seamless. While the final outfits will remain a surprise until the teams arrive in the Netherlands, I was given an exclusive preview of the accessories we have selected, the fabrics we have chosen, and the colour palette that will define the look. In addition to the main uniform, there are a few fun extras we are developing that will add a touch of personality and flair for both players and caddies.
We are also finalising the formal attire for the Gala Dinner, which takes place on the Wednesday of Solheim Cup week, as well as the clothing for the Opening Ceremony. These events require a slightly more sophisticated dress code, and we are working with a Dutch design firm to ensure the garments reflect the host nation’s style while still honouring the European team’s identity. I can already sense a sigh of relief from several team members, including my vice‑captains, Mel and Carro, because we have decided not to introduce a dress option for this year’s female competitors. The decision was made in consultation with our Dutch partners, and it aligns with the practical needs of the athletes.
Behind the scenes, discussions continue with players, caddies and the broader support crew. Zoom has become an indispensable tool for these conversations, allowing us to stay connected despite the busy travel schedules that dominate the tour. The excitement surrounding this Solheim Cup is palpable.
It seems that every conversation I have these days inevitably turns to the tournament, and I am frequently asked for my thoughts and predictions. Balancing my responsibilities as a touring professional with those of a captain has been challenging, but the Ladies European Tour, the LPGA and my management team have all provided exceptional support, helping me navigate this dual role. Being on this journey alongside the players is precisely why I agreed to take on the captaincy at this point in my career. When I am paired with European teammates during practice rounds, I get a front‑row seat to their preparation, their mindset and the camaraderie that defines our team.
