Manchester United's Benjamin Sesko has expressed his support for teammate Bruno Fernandes to win the Premier League Player of the Year award, praising his captain's significant influence on the team. Fernandes is a top contender for the award, having had an exceptional season with 18 assists in the Premier League, just two shy of the record for a single campaign in the top-flight since 1992. Sesko, who has scored nine Premier League goals in his debut season in England, with four of those goals assisted by Fernandes, credits his captain for his guidance and mentorship. "I receive a lot of instructions from Bruno, and I follow them without hesitation," Sesko said in an interview with Sky Sports.
When asked if he thinks Fernandes deserves to win the Premier League Player of the Season, Sesko replied, "He's great, and I always support my teammates." With United on the verge of securing a return to the Champions League, Sesko exudes confidence in his team's ability to win major trophies. "We're doing great, and I think we have the capacity to achieve something special," he said.
United's interim boss also discussed Fernandes' form, attributing it to the team's structure and setup, which allows him to perform at his best. "We're trying to create an environment that brings out the best in every player, and Bruno is a key part of that," he explained.
