World-renowned sprinter Usain Bolt has advised Australian teenage sensation Gout Gout to remain concentrated on his athletic career amidst the distractions that come with fame. Gout, who has drawn comparisons to Bolt, is being touted as a potential gold medal winner at the 2032 Brisbane Olympics. The young athlete recently won the 200 meters at the Australian Athletics Championships with a time of 19.67 seconds and also claimed victory in the Under-20 100m event with a time of 10.21 seconds. Bolt, the current world record holder in the 200m and 100m events, expressed his concerns about Gout's ability to stay focused.
'At a young age, it's easy to get sidetracked and forget about your athletic pursuits,' Bolt said in an interview with CNN. 'I hope he has a good support system to guide him and keep him on track, because if he falters in his athletic career, everything else will suffer.' Gout is scheduled to make his Diamond League debut in the 200m event in Oslo on June 10, where he will compete against reigning Olympic champion Letsile Tebogo of Botswana. He has opted to skip the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow this summer to focus on the World Under-20 Championships in Oregon in August.
