Nelly Korda continues to lead the Chevron Championship by five strokes going into the final round, despite not replicating the exceptional form of her first two rounds. The American golfer, seeking her third major title, had set a new tournament record for the first 36 holes with consecutive scores of 65, giving her a six-stroke advantage. On Saturday, Korda carded a 70, moving to 16 under par, while Thailand's Patty Tavatanakit narrowed the gap by one stroke with a round of 69, reaching 11 under par.
China's Ruoning Yin had a notable third round with a score of 66, placing her at 10 under par, but still six strokes behind Korda. English golfers Charley Hull and Lottie Woad showed improvement in their third-round performances but remain far behind at five under and four under, respectively. A win for Korda would propel her to the top of the world rankings, especially since current leader Jeeno Thitikul missed the cut.
Following her third round, Korda reflected on her performance, 'The front nine was great, but after missing a putt on the eighth hole, my game slowed down.' She plans to practice her putting to regain her momentum for the final round. The fourth and final round of the Chevron Championship will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Golf, starting at 7pm on Sunday.
