Webb noted that the difference in speed between Amad and Evanilson was a crucial factor in the decisions made by the referees.
While Amad was not moving quickly, Evanilson was moving at a faster pace when he was fouled by Maguire. The on-field referees' decisions were respected by the VAR, although Manchester United's head coach, Michael Carrick, expressed his disappointment at the inconsistency in the penalty decisions, labeling it 'crazy' and 'baffling'.
