The top National Hunt prize in Scotland was claimed by trainers Philip Hobbs and Johnson White as Kap Vert took the lead in the Coral Scottish Grand National, surpassing Git Maker and Kim Roque. In his fifth outing over fences, the six-year-old performed strongly under Sean Houlihan. Despite his limited experience, Kap Vert's jumping skills were impressive, unlike Midlands National winner Isaac Des Obeaux, who lost his chance after a mistake early in the home straight and finished fourth. Git Maker made a significant error nearly a mile from the finish but managed to recover and finish second, just a length and a half behind the winner, ahead of the 4-1 favorite Kim Roque in third.
This victory brought Hobbs and White £112,000 in prize money, making up for their earlier second-place finish in the Scottish Champion Hurdle with Captain Hugo.
