The bout, which was part of the undercard for Alycia Baumgardner's fight against Bo Mi Re Shin, saw Green facing off against Daniels for the unified IBF and WBO super-middleweight titles.
The referee stopped the fight in the ninth round after Daniels landed a series of shots, and Green was subsequently removed from the ring on a stretcher. In a social media post, Green revealed that she had lost consciousness due to brain bleeding but was on the path to recovery in the ICU, expressing her gratitude to those who supported her and stating her determination to return to boxing. Green's promoter, Most Valuable Promotions, also released a statement, thanking the relevant authorities and medical personnel for their assistance and announcing that they were providing support to Green and her family during this time.
