Former Formula 1 world champion Nigel Mansell believes Lewis Hamilton has been revitalized this season. Hamilton recently ended a 16-month drought without a podium finish, securing third place at the Chinese Grand Prix. This marked his first rostrum finish since joining Ferrari in 2025. The 41-year-old has also been more competitive with his teammate Charles Leclerc, having struggled with the previous generation of F1 cars.
The new regulations seem to favor Hamilton's driving style, and Mansell thinks the seven-time world champion could win a race this season. "Lewis is fired up again, and it's fantastic to see him performing so well," Mansell told Sky Sports News. Hamilton attributes his resurgence to better preparation and the fact that Ferrari has done an excellent job over the winter. He feels the new car suits his driving style, which was not the case last year.
Mansell also discussed the potential for a two-horse race in the F1 Drivers' Championship, with Mercedes' George Russell and Kimi Antonelli emerging as contenders. Mansell advised Russell to use his experience to win the intra-team battle, emphasizing the importance of focus and authority in the competition.
