This Saturday promises to be an exciting day of racing, with several top events taking place. I'll be at Thirsk, where my boss Archie Watson has two young horses competing. First up is Niewiadoma, a two-year-old filly making her debut in the British EBF Fillies' Novice Stakes.
I've had the pleasure of riding her in preparation and am impressed with her natural speed and lovely attitude. Although it's difficult to gauge her opponents, I'm optimistic about her chances. Later, I'll be riding Merlier in the Stirrup Bar For Deli-Style Dinning Packages Handicap, where he'll face proven sprinters for the first time on turf.
Despite the challenge, I'm confident in his abilities, especially with good ground conditions. Another horse I'm looking forward to riding is Warm Spell, who's been eased to a career-low mark and should go close in the Join Racing TV Today Handicap. I'll also be riding Idyllic in the Happy 21st Birthday Lily Watkinson Handicap, a mare who won at the track last summer and should enjoy similar conditions.
Meanwhile, at Newbury, Zavateri is the one to beat in the Watership Down Stud Too Darn Hot Greenham Stakes, with his impressive juvenile campaign and recent form making him a strong contender. Other notable races include the Dubai Duty Free Stakes, where Touleen will need to be at her best to win, and the Win Unique Experiences At OLBG Prizes Spring Cup Handicap, where Urban Lion will look to build on his recent success.
