The International Cricket Council has unveiled a significant 10% increase in the total prize fund for the upcoming Women's T20 World Cup 2026, set to take place in England and Wales. This summer's tournament will feature a substantial prize pool, with the winning team receiving $2.34 million and the runners-up taking home $1.17 million.
Notably, all participating teams are guaranteed a minimum of $247,500, more than double the amount from the previous edition. The ICC CEO, Sanjog Gupta, highlighted the growth of women's cricket, stating that the expansion of the tournament to 12 teams, combined with the record-breaking prize pool, demonstrates the commitment to building a stronger and more competitive global game. The tournament director, Beth Barrett-Wild, emphasized that the event is poised to become the most attended women's cricket event in history, with record-breaking ticket demand and the largest-ever prize pot for a global women's T20 competition.
The 33-match event will be held across 24 days in seven venues, featuring teams from around the world, including Australia, Bangladesh, India, and South Africa.
