Joel Tomkins, the head coach of Catalans Dragons, has announced his departure from the role due to personal reasons. Having held the position for nearly a year, Tomkins cited the challenges of being away from his family as a key factor in his decision.
Initially appointed as an interim coach, he was later given the permanent role, but after spending time back at home, he chose to step down. Tomkins expressed his gratitude to the players, staff, and supporters, and wished the club success for the remainder of the season.
His departure comes after a period of absence from the club's last three fixtures, during which the team secured one win. Ryan Sheridan will take over as interim head coach, assisted by Micky McIlorum and Mitchell Pearce, ahead of their next game against Warrington Wolves on April 18.
