Red Bull Revamps Technical Team to Enhance Performance

In a bid to bolster its technical prowess, Red Bull has unveiled a series of changes within its technical department. The team aims to intensify its focus on innovation and performance. Ben Waterhouse, a veteran of the team since 2017 and formerly the head of performance engineering, has been appointed to the expanded role of chief performance and design engineer. He will report directly to Technical Director Pierre Wache. Waterhouse's new position encompasses design and vehicle performance, which the team believes will foster greater integration between these areas and expedite the development of cutting-edge, high-performance solutions. Meanwhile, Andrea Landi is set to join the team on July 1 as head of performance, transitioning from sister team Racing Bulls. Landi, who has previously worked with Ferrari as deputy head of vehicle performance, will be under Waterhouse's supervision. According to a statement from Red Bull, these adjustments are designed to support the team's long-term technical objectives and underscore its commitment to nurturing internal talent while attracting top expertise from across the sport. Red Bull has faced a difficult start to the new era of F1 regulations, currently sitting sixth in the Constructors' Championship, 119 points adrift of leaders Mercedes. The team has also experienced the departure of key personnel to rival teams in recent years, including the impending loss of Gianpiero Lambiase to McLaren in 2028. The Formula 1 season resumes on May 1-3 with the Miami Grand Prix, available to stream on Sky Sports F1.
