The Giants, who had been on a winning streak following the dismissal of head coach Luke Robinson, were unable to maintain their momentum under the temporary leadership of assistant coach Liam Finn.
Despite a strong start by Huddersfield, with George King scoring an early try, the Rhinos quickly took control, scoring rapidly and consistently to seal the match before halftime. Croft was the first to score for Leeds, followed by Jarrod O'Connor, who demonstrated his game intelligence by stepping through the Giants' defense. James McDonnell's well-placed pass then enabled Jack Bird to score, and shortly after, Ryan Hall achieved a significant milestone by scoring his 250th try for Leeds.
