PGA Tour Explores Pathways for LIV Golfers to Rejoin

PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp has revealed that the organization is considering new pathways for LIV Golf players to be reinstated, following speculation about the breakaway league's financial future. Recent rumors suggest that LIV Golf might lose its funding from Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, prompting uncertainty over the league's long-term viability. In response to these developments, Rolapp stated that the PGA Tour is exploring possible pathways for LIV Golf players to return, while respecting their existing contracts. This comes after Brooks Koepka rejoined the PGA Tour through the new Returning Member Program, which was introduced by Rolapp. The PGA Tour CEO acknowledged that LIV Golf has driven positive change in professional golf, exposing areas where the PGA Tour can improve. However, Rolapp emphasized that any decisions on reinstating LIV players will be made on a case-by-case basis, with a focus on enhancing the PGA Tour. Meanwhile, Sky Sports Golf analyst Paul McGinley warned that LIV players seeking to regain membership on the PGA Tour or DP World Tour may face significant obstacles, including suspensions and fines.
