In a bid to enhance its performance and innovation capabilities, Red Bull has unveiled a series of changes to its technical department. Ben Waterhouse, who has been a part of the team since 2017 as head of performance engineering, will take on an expanded leadership role as chief performance and design engineer, reporting directly to technical director Pierre Wache. This move is expected to foster greater integration between design and vehicle performance, thereby accelerating the development of cutting-edge solutions. Additionally, Andrea Landi will join the team from Racing Bulls on July 1, assuming the position of head of performance and reporting to Waterhouse.

Landi brings a wealth of experience, having previously worked as deputy technical director at Racing Bulls and deputy head of vehicle performance at Ferrari. According to a statement released by Red Bull, these changes underscore the team's commitment to its long-term technical objectives, emphasizing the development of internal talent while attracting top expertise from across the sport.

The team is currently navigating a challenging start to the new era of F1 regulations, sitting sixth in the Constructors' Championship after three races, with a 119-point deficit to leaders Mercedes. The recent exodus of key staff members to rival teams has further complicated matters, with the departure of Gianpiero Lambiase, Max Verstappen's race engineer and head of racing, to McLaren in 2028 being the latest blow.

The Miami Grand Prix, the season's second Sprint weekend, is set to take place on May 1-3, with live coverage on Sky Sports F1.
